The Indiana native, Indiana University graduate and Hamilton County resident has become a successful brand.

"I describe myself as multi-passionate," said Dooley.

She travels the country as a public speaker and has a new book coming out called "Own Your Everyday". Dooley has a book signing at 7 p.m. May 15 at the Barnes and Noble at Greyhound Plaza in Carmel.

"I wrote this book as a response to the question, how do I find my purpose? How do I figure out what I’m supposed to do with my life? Or, I’ve been a stay at home mom for the last three years, how do I find my thing? The constant message is figure out your dream. Find your purpose. There’s half of me that’s like yes! Absolutely. I will cheer that on all day long. But, the other half of me is how do we make sure we’re balancing that with contentment right where we are," Dooley explained.

Dooley also hosts a podcast.

"It’s called SHE Podcast. It’s described as the personal development podcast for the everyday woman," Dooley said. "I love to bring other women on that are experts in their field. We have a lot of solo shows. We talk about everything from how to overcome imposter syndrome to how to avoid gossip." Jordan Lee Dooley

Areas of Emphasis: women’s personal development, business and faith

Keeping social media social

(photo courtesy Jordan Lee Dooley) "My number one rule when it comes to Instagram is keeping social media social," Dooley said. "It’s using the platform for what it’s meant to be used for. That creates really strong engagement. That creates really strong connection, loyalty and authenticity."

She has 235,000 followers!

"I’d say the majority of my audience is women in their 20s and 30s. Women who are in transitional seasons of life, just like I have been from college to career, from career to getting married, moving a few times," Dooley said. "I think what’s really sweet, when I’m out, even here in Indianapolis and women come up to me and they’re like, ‘I follow you on Instagram’ and make an immediate connection."

Monthly photo shoots give Dooley the visuals. Then she writes. She concentrates on lifestyle content.

"I kind of describe what I do as personal development for the everyday woman. That’s everything from relationships to health, to faith, to work, business and career decisions," Dooley said. "When I write I actually visualize the woman who came up to me at the grocery store. Or, the woman who came up to me at the coffee shop. I think, what would she need to hear right now. Anytime I talk about relationships and I open up about my husband and our journey, or I talk about cystic acne, I share those makeup-less photos – it really seems to resonate," Dooley said. Keeping perspective

Dooley encourages women to find purpose and contentment in their life.

"I think in our modern world, there is so much pressure to prove. Things like comparison, perfectionism, shame and distraction. All these things are like roadblocks and hurdles and mindsets that get us stuck," Dooley said. "We can look out at the social media landscape and see what everyone else is doing. It’s already hard enough to figure out what’s the next best step for me? What am I made to do? How can I be really intentional? But then you look out and see what all your friends are doing and what all the influencers are doing online. All the cool pictures they have. I always laugh. I don’t have the most interesting life. I live in Indiana. I raise chickens. I love my life but I’m not taking pictures by the Eiffel tower every other week."

Dooley’s Instagram posts connect with a large audience. But, she doesn’t wake up every morning thinking about what she will post.

"Oh no. I would lose my mind," laughed Dooley. "It’s not a place to live, it’s a tool to use; It’s a way to reach people. Remember to be present where you are because we can miss that so much."

Dooley doesn’t want to miss those moments with her husband, Matt, their dog, "Hoosier," or spending time with those chickens. In addition to being a social media influencer, Jordan Lee Dooley also does public speaking engagements. (photo courtesy Jordan Lee Dooley)
